The method to update the HTC Droid Incredible is using recovery mode, it’s mean you need to boot into recovery mode as pretty standard process for a manual update. However the official update.zip file has been secured and can be manually installed right this minute if you are running a stock, non-root Incredible.

So, lets grab the update file from Google first before go to update manually to Android 2.2.

1. Download the update.zip file directly from Google. Rename the file update.zip if necessary (make sure it doesn’t get named as update.zip.ZIP).
2. Transfer the file to your SD card’s root directory.
3. Power down your handset.
4. Hold the Volume Down key while powering up the phone to enter HBOOT mode.
5. Navigate to “RECOVERY” using the volume buttons and press Power to select it.
6. When the triangle with an exclamation mark inside appears, hold down Volume Up and Power at the same time.
7. Navigate to “apply sdcard:update.zip” using the volume buttons and select it with the Power button.
8. Your Incredible will apply the update and then reboot.

That’s all and start to explore Android 2.2 Froyo.

The new Google Earth 1.1 for Android lets you explore the oceans covering three quarter of the planet. Available free on Android Market, depending on your location. Google Earth is not available for me. I downloaded it while in Frankfurt earlier this year. However, I lost it after performing a hard reset of my Nexus One last month. Beside the under sea exploration, devices running Froyo offers Flash balloons so you can watch videos right in those balloons. I would love to try that to see how it affects my Nexus One performance.

The description provided doesn’t shed much light on what is new in the latest version, but it might be safe to assume that it will be similar to the version made available for the Wildfire recently.

Samsung has already released Samsung Galaxy U. It powers with a 1Ghz 55PC11 chip will power an undisclosed version of Android. That’s all well and good, really. Different strokes for different folks, as Samsung is covering almost every tier of the smartphone market in terms of form factors, pricing, and other features.

The Galaxy U called U for Unique grip, Ultimate display, Utilitarian application and Ubiquitous feature. It will be available in black and white version, and will release to the market with price $682.

The Samsung Galaxy U will be operable on J-CDMA and CDMA Rev. A networks. A 3.7-inch AMOLED Plus display comes in at a 480×800 resolution. The AMOLED Plus screen is said to be an in-between from the standard AMOLED and Super AMOLED displays. A 5MP camera features autofocus and 720p HD video recording. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.

However still no news which version of Android will be use for the Galaxy U, hopefully it will run with Android 2.2 or at least Android 2.1 Eclair. User need the latest Android as we know, many manufacturer release their Android phone the market with latest Android version or immediately release update to the Android 2.2. But exception for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone that still exist with Android 1.6 even they launch to US market also, still no progress for the update to Android 2.1 or Android 2.2 till now and as the previous post, it will available on Q4 this year.

Telus Release Motorola Charm today. Actually, the Motorola Charm will launch exclusively on T-Mobile in July. But delayed to August due to battery issues. However, the price is inconsistent at various T-Mobile locations, and now the Canadian carrier Telus has locked in their prices for the device starting at just $29 on a 3-yr. contract, $149 on a 2-yr. contract and $199 on a 1-yr. contract. Not sure why T-Mobile slow progress to offer the Motorola Charm though their lineup store shelves. Then Telus the Canadian carrier get the Motorola Charm with fixed price with or without contract.

Pacman game from Namco is a game which could running on any platform. Pacman will always be remembered as a classic game and one that shaped what today’s gaming is. The game makes an appearance on almost every platform known to man and Android phones are no exception.

LauncherPro v0-7-5-1 has been release. Many updates added to this new version. The interesting update is SMS widget where it joins bookmarks, contacts, and calendar. Unfortunately, this feature only available for LauncherPro PLus user only instead the common user just enjoy other features.

However, the all user could enjoy the new version with many bug fixeslike fixed a bug where changing the icon on the default dock shortcuts would revert back to the default icon after restarting LauncherPro (this didn’t happen when you changed the shortcut too). Fixed the menu button not responding after using the trackball or a hardware arrow key. Fixed a bug in the 3rd party scrollable widgets code that would cause the widget to be accidentally lifted while scrolling it. Changed the loading mechanism for the new “Activities” shortcut feature, since it wasn’t loading on some phones due to the amount of data on the list. It should load on all phones now. If you have a lot of apps installed, it might take a couple of minutes for the list to load.
Set dock shortcuts to ignore swipes when they have no swipe gesture action set.
